What a Folding Window Does
A folding window is a multi-panel unit whose sashes are hinged to each other and fold to one or both sides, so a wide span opens instead of one sash. People also call it a bifold window, a bi fold wall, a collapsible window wall or a folding glass wall. The trade uses a few names for one mechanism. The difference from a folding door is where it stops: a folding window sits above a sill or counter, a folding door reaches the floor.
The sill line decides the job. A kitchen serving window, a bar pass-through, a sunroom divider, a counter that opens to a patio. You get the wide clear opening of a folding system without giving up the counter, the cabinet run or the wall below. The panels stack to the side when open, and when closed the unit seals like any other window in the range.

How the Folding Window Is Built
Four things that decide whether a folding window works on your wall.
Fold and Stack
Sashes hinge to each other and fold to one side, or split and fold to both. Open, the panels stack into a tight pack. Closed, they line up into a continuous glazed wall.
Sill or Counter Mount
The unit sits on a sill or counter, not the floor. That keeps the counter run, the cabinet and the wall below intact while the opening above goes wide.
Wood Inside, Aluminum Out
Solid wood interior, aluminum cladding exterior on a 6063-T5 profile. Wood species and aluminum finish are your call. The outside takes weather, the inside stays warm to the touch.
Glass and Hardware
Double, triple or Low-E glass with multi-layer sealing strips. Multi-point locking. Hardware from ROTO, SIEGENIA, CMECH, HOPPE, HOPO or KINLONG, depending on the configuration you pick.

You send a drawing or a set of dimensions, we quote within 3 hours on average, and the unit is built to that opening. Full customization, drawing-based and sample-based work are all supported. Minimum order is 2 square meters, and sample orders are fine before a bulk purchase. Lead time is usually 25-30 business days, depending on the design, materials and order volume.
Packing is a wooden box and wooden frame, with the glass braced separately. A tracking number goes out after shipment. Once the goods arrive, we send installation videos, written guidance and remote assistance, and the team stays reachable until the project is finished. Warranty depends on the specific product and contract terms, with repair or replacement during the warranty period. If you need a certified rating on the unit, ask which series holds the certificate. Our 88 series aluminum folding door carries ENERGY STAR certification, and the parent company holds NFRC certificate FWW-M-2 for the 88 Series Entrance Door. The folding window itself is not covered by those certificates. The National Fenestration Rating Council is the independent nonprofit that certifies energy performance for windows, doors and skylights, and its label is how you compare one unit against another.

What is a collapsible window?
Collapsible window is a lay term for the same folding system. The panels collapse toward the jamb instead of swinging on a single hinge. It's a useful phrase for a homeowner searching, but on a drawing or a purchase order the term is folding window or folding glass wall. Ask your supplier which one they mean before you compare quotes.
How much do folding windows cost?
There's no single number, and any supplier who quotes one without seeing your opening is guessing. Cost moves with panel count, overall width and height, glass build-up, hardware brand and finish.
